"Unsuitable for women"

About: University Hospitals Of Leicester NHS Trust

Internal vaginal exams performed with 2 - sometimes 3 men in the room . Not offered a woman to be present . I carried on - feeling extremely uncomfortable as I needed results for my peace of mind - but there is no way I would have let my daughter go through with this experience . The door was also locked from the inside - obviously to stop people walking in - but in a room with complete strangers this only adds to feeling of isolation .

It’s never a pleasant experience - but lack of planning on the surgery’s behalf made this a really nerve wracking appointment .
