"I couldn’t have been in better hands"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Urology

(as a service user),

Late last year I had a raised PSA level that prompted my GP to refer me for tests for possible prostate cancer. Within two weeks I was booked in for a scan that was quick and easy.

A few days later I was given an appointment with the Urology team to discuss my results which indicated cancer. Following a bunch of further tests I elected to have surgery. I am now cancer free.

Throughout the whole time I have received nothing but care, compassion and professionalism. Everyone from my surgeon, to the specialist nurses to the care assistants have been nothing but great. I couldn’t have been in better hands.

Even now, 6 months down the track I continue to get care and support.

Thank you and a big shout out to the RD&E Urology Team!

Dear Simon99

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback about your pathway through Urology. I am pleased that this has been a positive one for you at a time when you had received a cancer diagnosis.

I will share this with the wider Urology team and wish you all the best in your continued recovery.

Marie Hunkin

Operations Manager
