My mum had taken seriously unwell and I had taken her to A and E. Her care team at A and E were amazing. Corrine in A and E was outstanding with my mum I felt so comfortable with her and knew mum was being seeing in a quick and professional manner. She was really so supportive of us when mum was in so much pain. She listened to mums and my concerns and recognised my mums frailty. She was so apologetic when she couldn’t get the cannula in! Which as a nurse myself is tricky on the patients like my mum! Corrine seen to her giving her pain relief in a timely manner.
When mum was transferred to ward 4 I had recognised the team as they previously helped me for exact same thing mum was in for! I automatically felt at ease as I was so anxious as my mum doesn’t do hospitals. When she arrived the night shift girls were fantastic! Got her tucked in checked in and even phoned my dad to say hey she’s comfortable and in bed asleep.
Roll on to day shift….Gemma and Karen you are amazing nurses and the rest of the girls too! Karen recognised me as having been her patient a few months prior and we had a wee chat about my mum and how she was, not only was she caring for my mum but she was checking in on me too being a post in-patient lol. Telling you she’s like a wee mammy, I felt that I was at ease with the team in ward 4!
Any concerns such as mum being frail and falls risks they listened to me, my mum was well looked after as if she was one of the teams mum! I can’t thank you enough from all of us.
The ward was immaculate patients were all comfortable in the four bedded room considering they were in a lot of pain. I loved watching them go about their shift, as a nurse myself I was proud of how well they looked after their patients, their ward and all of their staff.
Please never change how you practice as you are all outstanding and patient centred care is outstanding. Hopefully no more visits for us two gallbladder girlies lol
