I have awaited my appointment for a consultation regarding a new replacement marina coil fitting for over a month. I was told the consultation appointment has to happen before the fitting.
I was asked to attend Burton clinic. I turned up and followed the signs for main reception as I’d not been to that clinic before. There were two receptionists behind glass with an appointment screen in front. I entered my details on the screen that said that there was no record of my appt. I stood by the glass window and waited for the receptionist to pull the sliding window back. In an open waiting room I had to tell her that I had a sexual health appt. She responded by saying that I had to knock on the Podiatry door that was again, in the open waiting room. The door opened and I was asked by a nurse for my name. So in the open waiting room I had to give my full name. She then asked me what I was there
I was mortified. After being asked to then sit in the open waiting room, I was taken through by a lovely nurse who explained to me that because I was over 55 and because my coil was fitted originally by Gyny, that the fitting service could not be offered to me. So I needed to go back to my Drs and start the process again. So I battled through the city traffic and roadworks to be embarrassed and then turned away.
Could this waste of time for all parties, not simply be avoided by the consultation being over the phone?
