"Outstanding care, respect and professional attention"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I was referred via my optician to the Bolton Eye clinic. A few days later I received a text informing me there was a cancellation appointment that afternoon. The care and attention I have received from that day to the present has been exceptional.  The care, respect and professional attention I have been given has been outstanding. 

I would especially like to thank Miss Smyth (Consultant Ophthalmologist) who because of her I had a suspected diagnosis early. I was brought back to the clinic a couple of days later and treatment was started that afternoon.  This resulted in me only losing some vision, not all, in my right eye. All the visits to the department where I have undergone scans and eye tests by members of the team have been very professional and respectful. 

I would also like to thank Christine, Advanced Glaucoma Practitioner, who was also very professional, caring and understanding of the issues I was going through under Miss Smyth at the Eye Clinic. 

Last but not least I would also like to thank Rheumatologist Dr Mohammad at Bolton 1 who was very kind and understanding due to the stressful situation I had found myself in. 

I feel people are only to quick to criticise and not willing to give credit where credit is due. 

Thank you everyone who has been involved in my treatment and seen me through what at times was for me a traumatic experience.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback with us. It is wonderful to hear that with swift intervention, you did not lose the sight completely in your right eye.

I will of course share your kind words with the Ophthalmology Team along with Dr Mohammad in Rheumatology and I am so pleased that the care and treatment you received was excellent.
