"We should remember how lucky we are"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was referred to Hairmyres Hospital where I was treated by a few different nurses and doctor who were all superb. Regardless of how long waiting times were and how much discomfort I was in I feel it is clear more help is needed for staff who I think are so overwhelmed.

To witness the few who raised their voices towards staff was unnecessary and making comments is only down to frustration of having to sit for hours - but they are aimed directly at the people who least deserve it. I was in the hospital for over 8 hours and luckily sent home after treatment. No complaints from me, just a clear understanding that more needs to be done - by all of us. We should remember how lucky we are to have the NHS!

Sorry to hear that you were feeling unwell and had to attend the Emergency Department at UHH. Lovely to hear that the staff, nurses and doctors were all superb.

Thank you for understanding the challenging situation and extreme pressures that the Emergency Department is currently under.
