Following a serious cycling accident in Dumfries and Galloway in July 2024 reulting in multiple fractures I was initially cared for over 14 days stay in Dumfries Royal Infirmary (where the wonderful care and extraordinary staff cannot be praised highly enough) I was released home and referred to Ayrshire & Arran NHS for ongoing rehabilitation. I was seen at Acute Fracture Clinic a couple of times and reviewed by the Neurosciences consultant at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. I also had excellent input from the local District Nurse team.
The most significant contribution to my recovery after hospital however which is pretty well advanced 7 months since the accident has been regular physiotherapy sessions from the Muskuloskeletal Service Physiotherapist at Crosshouse Hospital Ayrshire & Arran NHS.
This input has been absolutely excellent delivered by an exceptional individual physiotherapist Mathew who has supported me throughout with appropriate and personalised challenges. His support, care and motivation has been crucial to my progress towards recovery and I cannot speak highly enough in praise of his professional skills. I would wish to offer my sincere thanks to all those who have provided my care and would like to think that this very positive review will reach their ears.
