"My friend's care"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a friend),

I called an ambulance for a friend who had fallen and dislocated her shoulder and could not get up off the floor.

The paramedics who attended were amazing, they were all extremely caring, patient and capable and spent a long time with my friend and ended up taking her to Ninewells hospital. I accompanied my friend to Ninewells. They made sure she had good pain relief before moving her and checked her pain levels on the way to the hospital, encouraging her to use the gas and air to help. They wished her well before leaving us in the hospital. This outstanding treatment should be acknowledged. Thank you ladies. Sorry I have forgotten their names!

The staff in A and E were lovely, my friend was treated with kindness and dignity throughout. Everyone introduced themselves and kept her up to date with what was happening, making sure her pain was treated. Her shoulder was put back into place and after recovery time she was allowed to go home. We are very lucky to have the NHS and the staff should know how much they are appreciated. Theo, the consultant, was so nice when he explained what would happen, including me in the conversation. Big thanks for the tea and sandwiches too!

Hi moonfs57,

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend's recent fall and shoulder injury. That must have been extremely distressing and painful. I hope she's doing ok and is recovering well.

I'd like to thank you for the kind comments about the paramedics who cared for your friend, it's great to read that they were so caring, patient and professional.

Thanks for taking the time to post this positive feedback. It is much appreciated.
