I just wanted to write to express my deepest thanks to all the midwives, health care workers, nurses, anesthetist and the surgeons who were all involved in my care and the safe delivery of my baby boy in mid October at Wishaw Hospital. I feel so incredibly lucky to be the mother of two beautiful boys and so thankful to all the staff who brought my boys safely into this world whilst also keeping me safe.

By way of background, this was my second pregnancy and second C-section at Wishaw. My first was an emergency C-Section in March 2021. The first time around I was high on gas and air, and although it was an emergency section my experience was still a lovely experience. As it was major abdominal surgery I did experience some pain for the first 10 days.

Second time around, I had a planned section as my son was breach, huge, and I had an infection. I must say that the planned section was such a dreamy experience. It felt like a hotel stay. It was so organised and the day ran so smoothly. I felt my baby and I were so well cared for by all the staff.

A special thanks goes to my obstetrician and the surgical staff who delivered my baby safely whilst keeping me safe. You were all so lovely to me in the operating room. I am so in awe of the work you do daily and the skills you possess.

I don't know if my obstetrician had magic hands, but for reason I was not in a lot of pain when I got home from hospital. The medicines took all my pain fully away and I was able to get out of bed a lot easier this time around and even found myself out for a long walk after only 1 day after I was home. I didn't and couldn't manage this until day 7 to 10 last time. Also my scar this time around has neared the last scar.

The help I got on hospital with breastfeeding was very much appreciated. A good few members of staff took time to help me and spend time helping me getting the hang of it.

Thank you doesn't seem a strong enough word for all the care that was given to me throughout my pregnancy. I am forever grateful for everything you did to keep me and my boys safe.
