I was admitted to ward 10 with pneumonia. My condition deteriorated and the doctors attempted a blood transfusion. Unfortunately I took a reaction. I was given emergency care, and the transfusion was stopped immediately. My condition worsened, and the doctors discovered i had sepsis. I was transferred to HDU with pneumonia and sepsis. The staff in ward 10 and in the HDU are all lovely. They explained everything to me and broke down long medical terms to help me understand exactly what was happening. I felt at ease being in this ward. All of the nurses have been amazing. Some were newly qualified Some have been qualified for years. Regardless of how long they have been qualified the level of care they have given me is outstanding. I unfortunately can't remember all of their names but I remember some nurses from HDU named Chloe, Laura, Fran, Lisa, Mary. Every member of NHS staff that I have been in contact with has been great from the ambulance staff, A&E, MAU, Ward 10, HDU. Everyone has been amazing.
