As part of a recent stay in hospital, I was particularly impressed by a consultant anaesthetist who not only visited me twice on the ward (before and after surgery) but on the day of my surgery was so wonderfully calming and kind, a real credit to the NHS. Although I felt calm anyway, she was so reassuring and made sure I was in no way stressed or anxious.

A credit to the NHS and the world of anaesthetics.

Thank you for getting in touch to tell us about your recent stay in hospital. It’s wonderful to hear that this particular member of the anaesthetics team took the time to come and see you before and after surgery, and to hear how that felt for you. Your lovely feedback will not only bring a little boost to the team, but hopefully help reassure others waiting for surgery that kind, person-centred care is at the heart of what we do.

Thank you for your response. I have emailed Karan and hopefully she can pass my comments on to the right person, I am just sorry I could not remember her name, just remember her being amazing!
