"All round great care"

About: The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

My son was transferred into the RVI from another trust and from the moment he was wheeled in we received fantastic care. The nurses and doctors on wards 1a and 1b we're thoughtful, thorough and genuinely caring to us as a whole family, at what has been a stressful time.

The things that made the biggest difference were a wonderful nightshift nurse finding us a big bed so I could co-sleep after having little to no sleep for 2weeks with a poorly baby and the paediatric infectious diseases registrar who provided continuity throughout and also sorted us out in paediatric A&E quickly when we had to return due to problems with treatment at home 3days after discharge.

I was dreading having to come back into A&E after having just been discharged but the staff there treated us with dignity and respect and dealt with my son's issues quickly.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your sons care with the children's services department at the RVI hospital. We are pleased that the staff provided fantastic care and cared for you all as a family. We will forward your comments to the directorate concerned, who will share with the staff involved.
