I was referred by my GP to attend the AMU department for further assessment and possible overnight stay; Upon arrival it was clear the department was very busy and waiting would be an unfortunate part of the experience, I was accompanied by a friend.
Receptionist (Leann?) was extremely caring, making eye contact and offering assurance and encouragement; very professional and a pleasure to meet. The young man (Niju?) approaching new arrivals for blood pressure and temperature test was extremely polite, respectful and interacted with people well.
When I was eventually called by the triage nurse (Aashi?) she was charming, efficient and attentive. Blood was taken by Kabita so effectively there was no discomfort and today No Bruise! brilliant technique and care.
All the time I was aware of Matron Ruth in overall charge; she exuded authority and control, so reassuring to see an effective matron in full colour!
Doctor Freddie was inclusive, very thorough and provided real assurance, reception at Xray was really cheerful, and my Consultant (Ms. Lindsey Webb?) was Professional and charming.
In a long arduous day of waiting it can be difficult to find the positives but on this day, for me, the 'people' made all the difference, professional care and kindness at its best, well done AMU at RD&E.
