"Helped me through a really difficult period"

In 2020 I was diagnosed with a rare blood Cancer which was very unusual for my age. I first went to my GP who directed blood samples to be taken. The nurse who took the samples was Alison at Roslin Medical Practice. Following this I was diagnosed with blood Cancer and since then have required regular blood transfusions. This requires a blood match 2 days prior. I have particularly difficult veins which makes the whole process more traumatic.

For nearly the past 5 years Alison has been my rock in terms of support with blood samples and general support through my GP. She has been able to take the necessary samples and has really helped me through a really difficult period. I can't overstate how important Alison has been and how much she helped me physically and mentally. Due to a shift in day for my transfusions my samples are now taken on a day she does not work and I wanted to ensure the management at the practice were aware of her amazing work.
