"Letters not changed"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Paediatric surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently I’ve brought my son to hospital for an operation. Our letter very clearly states that only one parent is allowed to accompany children but when we arrived we realised this was not the case. These letters have seemingly not been changed since emergency Covid measures were in place. Having only one parent or other support person with you is unnecessary now, and anxiety provoking for both parents/carers and children.

Please look at making this simple edit to these letters asap.

Dear watergz93

Thank you so much for your feedback regarding your son's appointment.

I would like to apologise that the information on the letter was not up to date and appreciate this must have been very frustrating when you attended for the appointment.

I am pleased to confirm that the letters are in the process of being updated. Unfortunately there has been some delays, but your feedback has been a welcome reminder of the impact that out of date information has. The team are hopeful the changes will be finalised soon and would also like to thank you for your feedback.

Thanks again

Louise
