Experienced chest pain that was concerning enough to attend A&E at Wishaw and after assessment transferred to Hairmyers Cardiac Cathertisation Lab.
Transpires it was a heart attack and being only 48 and active it came as a shock.
Throughout the whole experience all staff were supportive and ready to explain what was going on/happens next. At the lab I required stents and the procedure was carried out with dignity a lots of reassurance. Again support was abundant from staff, no question or concern too silly. Staff wee professional, affable and knowledgable, however busy they were they had time for patients but could also identfy when someone need a little space (although you knew they were continually keeping an eye on you).
Over the four days I cannot fault the staff, they made a worrying time so much easier (as did the abundant tea).
