"Action was effective and fast"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Endoscopy University Hospital Hairmyres / Radiology

(as the patient),

Regular poo test resulted for the first time in spotting blood with no obvious other symptoms. Called to a Colonoscopy at the Vanguard unit at Hairmyers hospital East Kilbride.

The procedure explanations were all delivered well and my written result was with me as I was leaving the unit. They had removed 2 sessile polyps completely.

I then met with the Surgeon, Mr Mukharjee, who explained comprehensively that 1 of the polyps was malignant but all cancer cells had been removed with wide clear margins. Although the presence of cancer was not good, the best result was obtained.

Recently had a CT and MRI to confirm were clear, and again the staff in radiography were very good. This preventative system works well. Thank you

Dear Maywn73,

Thank you for sharing your feedback about University Hospital Hairmyres, Radiology and Endoscopy departments.

I am sorry to hear about your worrying test results, but what a difference this must have made to have prompt and efficient treatment and explanation from your surgeon. Knowing that all traces of the cancer had been removed must have been very reassuring for you.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team including Mr Mukherjee. I am sure they will all be delighted to hear your feedback.

I hope you are keeping well.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
