"The birth of my little boy and the care from the emerald team"

I recently had my little boy in Craigavon area hospital and was under the care of the continuity midwifery emerald team. I had quite an easy pregnancy and was looked after so well by the team. I had a difficult labour and a few complications but the care I received from everyone involved was absolutely outstanding.

I cannot thank them all enough. I had a kiwi delivery with my little boy and then needed taken to theatre after for a surgical procedure on a complication from my birth. Myself and my partner felt so reassured despite being nervous during the labour and after. My named midwife Suzanne was with me throughout my whole pregnancy and the birth of my little boy and I can’t thank her enough for the care I received from her. She was there at the other end of the phone any time of the day if I had any worries or questions. She was amazing with myself and my partner during my labour and was just as excited as us when our little boy made his appearance.

I had a lot of doctors and unfamiliar faces in the room during my labour so it was so nice to have a familiar face during such a scary time and I couldn’t have did it without her. The doctors and other midwives were also amazing, the midwifery students who were in the delivery suite were also angels and are going to do  and are amazing in their career. 

Another special mention to Vicky who I also seen a few times and also early stages of my labour. She did reflexology on me and it was so lovely. She also was on shift when I went into labour and made sure I was as comfortable and got me into the bath in the midwifery led unit, It eased my pain significantly. 

I have had a few visits from the emerald team from we have got him and I will honestly miss them coming out and seeing us.

They're all amazing and I can’t say thank you enough.
