"Difficulty swallowing"

About: South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust / Adult Acute Speech and Language Service

(as the patient),

Always having to clear my throat and swallowing pills. After an initial assessment by the staff in the SLT Unit in the Ulster Hospital, the staff there kindly arranged for a FEES assessment in the specialist SLT unit in the Lagan Valley Hospital. The three members staff made me feel quite relaxed during the whole procedure. The all worked well as a team and explained clearly what they were doing during the different stages of the assessment.

They suggested that I should have a further investigation of a related issue by a different Specialist Unit , which I agreed to have. They are making the necessary arrangements for this,

They also said that they were referring me to the STL unit in my home town for follow up monitoring. Shortly after I arrived home I received a message to say that they had made an appointment for 2 days later at this unit at 9.00 am.

How’s that for good service!

Many thanks for everything.
