"Awful accident and emergency."

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital

Five Hours waiting at A+E I was diverted to just to be seen by one of the most horrible doctors I’ve ever seen… the waiting room was quite empty for an A&E department..

I got maybe about an hour in a quiet room due to having ME/CFS then was moved into the waiting room.. had my blood botched by a nurse who struggled to find my vein.. and when she did the cannula popped out.. so she just rammed it back in.

The doctor who saw me told me everything was ok and told me I shouldn’t have come to their hospital as they don’t have a cardiology department.. they’re “just an emergency room”

He told me ME/CFS was psychological and that was probably the route of these palpitations.. told me and I am not even joking.. “take paracetamol for three days” he spoke over me when I was trying to get some reassurance.. he told me to stop caffeine..smoking.. drinking.. even though I told him several times I didn’t do any of that.. he told me to stop using my Apple Watch as that probably wasn’t helping my “anxiety” even with all the diagnosis I have and told him about he didn’t listen to a word.. and repeated the things I should stop.. told me to ignore 111 in the future and just go straight to my local hospital as they’re closer..

All I wanted was an answer as to why these palpitations keep happening.. chances are they’re benign.. if ECGs, X-rays and bloods came back normal that this must be… all in my head.. I’ve never experienced this level of gaslighting before.. ever.

Hinchingbrooke Hospital is NOT a great hospital..
