I was admitted through A&E reporting symptoms of a stroke (I have had before and recognised signs)
A&E hugely busy however I was brought through quickly by staff.
First night I slept on a chair in a treatment room due to lack of bed. I was subsequently taken the afternoon of the next day to a bed in the corridor.
Gill the Orthopedist was hugely impressive and assisted with determining the severity of my double vision. This massively calmed me.
Gill provided glasses which helped with vision over the next few days.
I had a CT scan, was moved to the stroke ward and MRI tests completed.
Gill returned a few days later and was able to reassess my eyesight which had improved significantly. Gill discussed long term prospects, timeframes and options regarding this. Again very helpful - until this advice I had assumed I would lose my job/livlihood.
Gill has updated my glasses with a prism and scheduled a review appointment in 4 weeks.
