"Put me at ease as an older first time mum"

About: Maternity care / Maternity care (Ward 48) West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (Yorkhill) / West Glasgow Maternity Care Centre

(as the patient),

I was assigned to the Daisy team at the old Yorkhill hospital and my midwife was Niamh. Niamh was a great midwife, put me at ease as an older first time mum. She never once judged me for my choice for a planned section and completely understood why I felt this was needed and put my anxiety at ease.

On the day of my section at QEUH the team were incredible as were the staff in the maternity ward after. In particular Cara the midwife was so supportive to both myself and my partner.

I have only found out about this way of giving feedback recently, and felt both Niamh and Cara and staff at the maternity unit / surgical staff deserve the praise.

Dear composertq83

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. Thank you for telling us about your experience of care in pregnancy from Niamh and the care you received during your Caesarean birth and stay in the postnatal ward. I appreciate that this is a busy time for you with a new baby.

I will share your feedback with Niamh,Cara and the team. They will be delighted to hear how you felt about the care and support you received during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

May I take this opportunity to wish yo and your family for the future.

Best Wishes

Elaine Drennan
