"My dad had a TAA and ended up in CSICU"

About: Cardiac surgery / Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

He had a heart attack in November, so being rushed to hospital on his 1st day back to work was scary. But from when we got there the doctors were brutally honest about his situation he had a thoracic aortic aneurysm that burst. This meant if he did not have open heart surgery he would die and if he did there is a 60/40 chance he would not survive the surgery. Hearing this was awful but the fact the doctors were brutally honest and so unbelievably lovely made the situation a lot better. He is now out of surgery 2 days sitting talking and eating which is unbelievable. The staff have been so lovely and so honest and took care of every need he has had and we are forever grateful for the team of 15 surgeons that saved his life and all the staff in CSICU. I could not put it into works how thankful and how loved the RVH is by my family. They have been unbelievable and have really saved my Daddys life ❤️
