"Every member of staff was a pleasure"

About: Maternity care / Community Midwives Maternity care / Maternity Assessment Maternity care / Maternity Ward

(as the patient),

I came into the hospital very unwell. After phoning maternity assessment they asked me to come in and get checked. Upon arriving at the hospital I was assessed and my blood pressure was through the roof. I was told I would be staying and having a baby once I was stabilized.

The nurses and doctors were all very supportive and did their jobs seamlessly and with great pride in what they do. Once I was stabilized I was induced and went on to labour for the rest of the day.

At 9pm I was 3cm dilated but they could finally break my waters. After only 11 minutes I birthed my daughter. I was in great hands and received some stitches and a baby in my arms. I was kept in hospital for the next 3 days due to my high blood pressure and my baby wasn't able to keep her temperature up.

Every member of staff, midwife, auxiliary and domestic staff was a pleasure.

Midwifes visited once home. My blood pressure was still raised so they continued to visit me daily untill I was transferred to the health visitor.

Great experience with the NHS maternity and midwifes. Going above and beyond.
