I just want to thank all the cardio rehab team for all the support and help they have given me through the rehab sessions. I have found them incredibly useful and it’s not just the gym sessions but the talks afterwards and the advice given. It is very comforting to have experts like yourself around to ask questions to and run things past, when many of us feel we have just been left to get on with it by our doctors’ surgeries. For instance, no-one had told me before that after heart surgery, our cholesterol should be below 4 and our non-HDL cholesterol below 2.6. It has also been enjoyable to be part of a group of people in a similar position which has tremendous camaraderie and that feeling is facilitated by all the nurses, fitness trainers and volunteers – the sessions are fun and very inclusive.
