"Excellent Social Care"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Hospital Social Work Team University Hospital Hairmyres / Medicine for the Older Adult (wards 13 - 16)

(as a relative),

I would like to thank the excellent Social Worker within Ward 16 at Hairmyres Hospital

This wonderful lady went above and beyond to help my Dad and get him out of hospital after he broke his hip and due to another neurological condition required 24 nursing care

She not only took great pride in her role as Social Worker to my Dad, she ensured my sister and I were okay and helped us, she was just magnificent and we will be so thankful to her.

She was and is a shining star in our lives and we will always remember how kind and caring she was to Dad. He has a second chance in life, although frail and fragile he is so well cared for and all thanks to this fabulous lady

Millions of thanks

Dear februarygn64

Thank you so much sharing your experience and feedback. I am sorry to hear of the challenges your father has faced related to his health and overall wellbeing however delighted you both received the support and input from South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership, Hospital Discharge Social Work Team, that has resulted in what sounds like a positive outcome. I will share your comments with the team who I am sure will be very grateful for the time and effort you have given to share your story and pleased to know the positive impact of their hard work and dedication. I wish you and your father all the very best for the future.

Dear februarygn64

Thank you for taking the time to share such lovely comments. I feel truly humbled to read your kind words and will ensure these are shared with the social worker and the wider team.

It sounds as though your dad has had a very difficult time and this must have been a great worry to him, yourself and your sister. It is clear from your comments that the social worker has made an impact on you all. She will be delighted to know that and will really appreciate your kindness.

Thank you again for sharing.

Best wishes to your dad, yourself and your sister

Lise
