"Thorough Assessment"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Ambulatory Care - Medical Southern Health & Social Care Trust / Urgent Care Centre (Phone First)

(as a relative),

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the healthcare professionals involved in my mother's care.

My mother began her journey at The Urgent Care Center in CAH, where she was promptly triaged and thoroughly assessed by Dr. Chikki. He went above and beyond in investigating her symptoms, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and a reassuring bedside manner that put us at ease. My mother received timely blood tests, observations, and a chest X-ray, all completed with impressive efficiency.

Her care was then transferred to the Ambulatory Care Unit, where we were greeted by Ward Manager Judith. The nursing team made my mother feel welcome and comfortable, and although I do not recall all of their names due to the nature of the situation, their kindness was evident. Both the registrar and the consultant in the ACU were compassionate and reassuring, taking the time to ensure a follow-up would be arranged to address any remaining concerns and rule out other potential diagnoses.

We left the facility feeling truly reassured. The care and attention my mother received made a significant difference to her health and alleviated a great deal of worry for me as her sole caregiver. We both felt heard, valued, and cared for throughout the entire process.

So thank you and God Bless you.

Dear King692

Thank-you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care your mother received through the Urgent Care Centre. I am glad to hear she was promptly triaged, thoroughly assessed and received the urgent investigations she needed. It is wonderful to hear such lovely words regarding Dr Chikki and I will ensure this feedback is passed on to him and the rest of the Urgent Care Team.

I am so glad you both felt heard, valued and cared for.

I wish your mum all the best in her recovery.

Kind regards

Rebecca Smyth, Nurse Team Lead, Urgent Care.
