I missed a telephone consultation because, despite being next to it, my phone did not ring. I immediately called the practice when seeing ‘missed call’ and, after waiting in a queue, spoke to a receptionist who refused to acknowledge my problem stating I had been phoned twice - this was wrong -and also refused my request to speak to the practitioner or a member of staff.
My notes state to call me on a landline because my mobile reception is so poor.
Sadly the receptionist I dealt with did not seem to appreciate that people phoning the practice are usually unwell and therefore anxious and thus refused to acknowledge my request.
I should have thought that these skills are necessary to provide, at the very least, a reasonable service. Very disappointed.
