"Found an excellent GP"

About: The Saxon Spires Practice

(as the patient),

I moved to this area and was worried about finding a good GP surgery, because my previous one was excellent. I registered at this practice and thankfully found that at this surgery (with 2 sites) the Practice Managers, Nursing, Admin, Pharmacy and Reception staff were absolutely brilliant in their professionalism, kindness and helpful in an over and above way.

They have a lot of GPs and of course, I haven't seen all of them, only a handful. My previous GP suggested to find one that I gel with and to stick with them. Thankfully I did with Dr Perera.

I'm under the impression that she is a newly qualified GP, which is valuable because in my humble opinion and experience, new GP's are more open to patients and are up-to-date with new opinions and procedures. Anyway, Dr Perera has been kind, thorough, personable and demonstrated genuine kindness, care and understanding towards me.

Her listening skills and explanations were exemplary towards me. She was thorough and made sure I had the necessary investigations and tests. I felt cared for and understood. I hope she stays at this surgery and becomes a partner because she is one out of two of the best GP's I've gone to. I personally feel that Dr Perera is a credit to this surgery.

Disappointing 2 of the GPs I initially saw were condescending and unkind in mine and my husband's opinion. I appreciate that GP's are only human and so there's some we'll get on with and others we won't!

However, thankfully the others I've seen were great. I highly recommend this surgery, but suggest that each patient find a GP they feel comfortable with when first joining. If you have any problems though, both the Practice Manager and her Deputy both come across professional, impartial and very helpful.
