"Vaccinations for our upcoming holiday"

About: Central Vaccination Service - Perth & Kinross

(as a service user),

I was booked in for a virtual appointment, along with my wife, to discuss vaccinations for our upcoming holiday. During the initial consultation the nurse suggested we come into the centre, rather than continue. When we arrived, the vaccines were explained and administered. I was very happy with this service.  We would have preferred a face-to-face meeting in the first place, this would have been more efficient and could increase the number of patients vaccinated on a given day.

Dear auriqajx87,

thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback on the travel health clinics, and I am heartened to hear it has been a mainly positive experience.

During the development of the service providing everyone with an initial face to face appointment, proved to be less person centred, as there were a large number of citizens who did not require vaccinations, and therefor had an avoidable journey.

However, although we use Near Me remote appointments for the initial assessment, the option to have a face to face appointment for those who would prefer it is always available, and I apologise if this was not relayed to you.

This is an ever changing service, depending on the needs of travellers, and providing this feedback ensures we meet those needs as much as possible.

Finally, we wish you safe travels.
