My daughter received her HPV vaccination today at school. Initially, she was very anxious and "terrified" about the whole process having not had any other injections since her last childhood injections when she was 3.
She has arrived home from school this afternoon after having had her injection this morning, reporting it not to have been as "bad" as she had first anticipated. She spoke so highly of the nurse, Gretta, and how she put her anxiety at ease (not an easy task, she is quite the drama queen!), even getting her a biscuit afterwards when her adrenaline "crashed" to make her feel better. She has told me that the whole experience has put her mind at ease about having to receive any further vaccinations. We just wanted to take the time to say thank you to Gretta and the school immunisation team for showing my daughter a high level of care and compassion.
