My son went into crisis as he had stopped taking the medication he had been prescribed following a previous episode of psychosis. He was found lying on the street in an agitated state. Myself and my wife were naturally very worried. However, we were very impressed with the response of all the medical services involved. Paramedics came out to see him very quickly and were very patient and empathetic, and took him to hospital. The hospital mental health nurse saw him very quickly, and she too was very patient and empathetic and arranged for him to be referred to our local Home Treatment Team, who were able to see him the very next day, and who continued to monitor, assess and assist him every 2 days until he was able to return to Gloucester, having also referred him to the care of the Gloucester Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team.
