I arrived at the hospital with my dad and we signed in and waited for about 15 minutes before our nurse, took us to our waiting area. Her name was Liz and she was wonderful and made me feel very comfortable and a lot less nervous about my surgery! Thank you! Our space had chairs and curtains and a little table. We waited for a while and Liz came back. She explained step by step what was going to happen and so did the anaesthesia doctor.
We sat and waited before it was my turn and Liz took me to a room with a bed in the middle and I got comfortable. I took my socks off and went on my phone while the doctors said I was going to feel some pressure on my arm. Thanks to the numbing cream, I didn’t feel the tube go into my hand at all!
After that, all I remember before going to sleep was playing on my phone and feeling tingly. Next thing I know I’m waking up in a bed back in my waiting area! Apparently, an hour had passed but it felt like seconds to me! I had bandages on my feet, and I woke with my parents. Liz came and asked how I was before offering me some food. I was starving after not having any breakfast! I ate a yogurt and slice of toast before getting out of bed into a wheelchair and heading back to the car to go home. Thank you to everyone who helped me during my day, you made me feel super comfortable and eased my worries a lot!
