"Recent surgery"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Dept of Scheduled Admissions Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / General Surgery

(as a service user),

I would like to praise the staff on ward 206 on the care that I received in a recent admission for surgery in December. I previously was very disappointed with the lengthy wait that I had for surgery (referred for surgical opinion in March 2020) and as a result was changed to a different surgeon. I had surgery for an ileostomy by Ms Stevenson in December and my recovery has been good.

My wounds are healing well and I am in much less pain compared to before surgery.

The care that I received on the ward from the nurses and stoma nurses was outstanding and I felt well looked after. Thankfully the surgery seems to be making a difference to my symptoms and preventing bowel impactions. I am very gratefully to finally be in less pain after only 6 weeks.

Dear SH1987

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay in ward 206. I will share your kind comments with the team. It will mean a lot to them to have their hard work recognised.

It is nice to hear that your recovery has been good and the surgery has made a difference to your symptoms.

Thanks again

Fiona
