"I received 100% commitment from all involved"

About: Victoria Hospital / Colorectal Unit Victoria Hospital / Medical High Dependency Victoria Hospital / SEAL (Surgical Elective Admission Lounge)

(as a service user),

After submitting my bowel test at age 56, I was sent for Colonoscopy where cancer was found and within 7 weeks I had a bowel resection to remove my cancer and fortunately it had not spread to my lymph nodes and none was found in blood vessels which meant I was informed that the operation via robotic system was successful and therefore all signs of cancer removed for which I am very grateful.

I would like to thank everyone involved in my journey for the  attention I received through those 7 weeks which was impeccable and could not be faulted. Well done to all involved - Bowel Screening, Bowel Department, surgeons, scans and wards (HDU and 44) - I received 100% commitment from all involved. Thank you!!

Hi DonnaD,

I am very happy to read your feedback, and that your surgery was successful.

I hope you are recovering well at home, and getting back to your normal levels of activity.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further support. I am sure I will be seeing you again in the surveillance clinics.

I will pass on your kind words to my team.

All the best,

Kendall Ovens Lead ACNS Colorectal Nursing Services.
