"Amazing care"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Fracture Clinic (orthopaedics) Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / General Medicine (Ward 3C)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was in ward 3C at the QEUH Children’s Ward. The staff were nothing short of amazing. He had 2 broken limbs and it was such a stressful time, they provided the very best of care. They ensured he was comfortable, as well as ensuring I was okay while I stayed with him.

I was distressed at times and they provided emotional support and understanding. All of them were amazing but Linda-Lee really made an impact. Everyone should be so proud of the care they provide.

Mary, the volunteer from the Playroom was also incredible, it made such a difference when she appeared asking if my son wanted a console. We’re donating our old Xbox to the ward and I’ve arranged a GoFundMe for another console.

I can’t remember all of the nurses and staff names, for which I’m sorry. What I will say is, they won’t be forgotten. They made a stressful experience more bearable and I will never forget it.

The RAH orthopaedic minor injuries team were also fantastic, they explored every avenue to see if we could manage his injuries at home. I cannot fault any of the care he received.

Dear Laurenlx25

Thank you so much for sharing this thoughtful and heartfelt feedback about the care your son received at Ward 3C at the Royal Hospital for Children. We're truly grateful for your kind words, and we’re so pleased to hear that you and your son felt supported during such a stressful and difficult time.

It’s wonderful to hear that the staff, including Linda-Lee, were able to provide not just excellent care but also emotional support for both you and your son. It’s also great to know that Mary, our volunteer, was able to bring some comfort through her thoughtful gesture, and we’re touched by your generosity in donating an Xbox and raising funds for another. These acts of kindness mean a lot to both the children on the ward and the staff who care for them.

Kind regards

Kevin
