"Kind and supportive"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Surgical Paediatrics (Children's Surgery)

(as a service user),

My son is currently undergoing  ill health and had an admission for 2 nights to get some procedures carried out under GA to allow appropriate diagnosis and management. All of the staff in the medical ward are fantastic including support and admin staff and the nursing students. They put my son at ease despite the difficulties and challenges he faced and also supported us.

The nurse - Adrianna - was brilliant with him and they had a good banter going down in the lift to theatre and afterwards too which lightened the mood and anxieties for us all. The gastro consultant was great and engaged my son at a level that he would understand, and the radiology consultant was also very kind and supportive.

Keep up the good work, you all do a fantastic job and should be proud of yourselves and the service that you provide.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us this positive feedback. It is so appreciated. I will make sure Adrianna receives your lovely comments and that the gastro team and the whole medical ward team hear the feedback too.

If you are happy to let me know in an e-mail (sue.danby@nhs.scot) what your son's name is, this will make the feedback even more meaningful.

I hope your son's condition is improving now that he has been able to get a diagnosis.

Many thanks again

Sue Danby
