"Unable to book a blood test "

About: Jubilee Street Practice

My doctor requested a blood test but I have to call to book it. Why can’t blood tests be booked on line to save time with the NHS app or y other means ? It’s ridiculous to have to call and again and again and nobody answers . For simple bookings like this it should be possible to book online. The doctor could perhaps ask the bookings team to call when they have appointments as an alternative as he has asked for the test . Thanks

Dear Angie Mee,

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.

Booking a blood test should be possible via a booking link that is typically sent to you via text message. Usually, the clinician requesting the test would provide this link at the time of discussion. However, if there are no appointments available at the time of the request, the booking link cannot be sent, which may require you to call the practice to secure an appointment.

It seems that the link was not provided in your case, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. As a learning point, we will reiterate this process to our entire practice team to ensure that patients receive the booking link whenever possible, reducing the need to call for an appointment.

We appreciate your suggestion regarding alternative booking methods and will continue to explore ways to improve accessibility, including online options through the NHS App where feasible.

If you still need to book your blood test, please contact the practice, and we will assist you as soon as possible.

Kind regards

Kamal
