"Care while getting a pacemaker"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

I wish to record the excellent service I received last week at FVRH, which culminated in me being fitted with a pacemaker.

I was initially taken to the Community Assessment Unit for two days where I received round the clock monitoring, tests and scans.

Following a transfer to the Surgical Ward, I continued to be tested and monitored; a decision being reached that I should be fitted with a pacemaker.

This was done four days after entering hospital, and, had an immediate effect on the quality of my breathing and general wellbeing.

I simply wish to state that the attitude, work ethic and devotion exhibited by the entire hospital team, from Catering, Auxiliary, Nursing, Radiographers, Doctors and Surgeons went well beyond the call of duty.

You are all a credit to NHS Scotland.
