I attended a medication review with the nurse practioner in Dec 24. I mentioned in passing that I had been experiencing some mild chest pain and slight breathlessness, over the past few months, but nothing major, that would have propmted me to pursue an appointment with the G.P. The nurse practitioner suggested that we rule out anything serious first. I was referred for a 24 hour E.C.G. From there, within 6 weeks, I have been booked in for a heart bypass and valve replacement.
If the nurse practitioner had not persuaded me that this may not just be indigestion, I would never have known I had this significant problem and would not have found out until it was maybe too late. Since then, the G.P. has kept me up to date with progress of referrals, prescribed appropriate medication and supported me throughout. I have never had an issue with accessing the help I need and the support staff have always been polite and helpful when I've called. The service at that time and since has, been excellent, efficient, caring and supportive, so a massive thanks to everyone at Park House.
