I'd like to share my thoughts about the fantastic staff at the Queen Elizabeth hospital who recently cared for my mum.
It hasn't been long since my mum left us so this isn't easy to write but I really wanted to express how much the staff helped mum as well as the rest of the family.
My mum was very ill - she had to have dialysis - but we were optimistic. The staff were great - keeping us informed and up to date every day. We were all waiting for mum to improve enough so she could move to rehab and then come home.
After several weeks however we were given the worst possible news - that there was nothing more that could be done.
There is probably no easy or gentle way to offer such news. The staff however were all kind throughout the next day or so until mum's condition suddenly changed for the worse.
We stayed with my mum all through her last night and the staff - doctors, nurses and auxilliaries - were all wonderful. They were discrete and thoughtful and a huge comfort.
Thank you to all of the staff there for your kindness.
