"The true heart of the caring professions"

About: West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (Yorkhill) / Lymphoedema Service

(as the patient),

Today and on my previous visits to the Lymphoedema Clinic at Yorkhill hospital I met two outstanding ladies, Nursing Sister Marie and Doctor Libby. They told me that my CT scan had shown no evidence of any abnormality which could have caused my swollen arm. Now the swelling is reduced things are better and I can get on with my life. If needed, I can call on them again.

I was reminded that the essence of medical and nursing care is not the amount of technology but the compassionate and informed calmness which shows the true heart of the “caring professions”.

Thank you both.
