"Waiting for surgery"

I am in my 70s and am waiting for hip surgery am in a great deal of pain. My dear wife passed away just over a year ago so am coping alone, have good family who do their best, also a good friend who takes me to church every week. 

My hip is very painful, I have had all my pre-op, also an iron infusion, all I need is a date for my surgery. I have telephoned the surgeon's secretary several times and told they were out of office and would call back but never does call back.

Was told in the beginning the waiting was 18 weeks and gradually going up to 30/40 weeks, was put on list in April 2024 and am still waiting.
