"I cannot fault the service and care I have received"

I recently had a knee replacement at Grantham hospital . I arrived as instructed at 7.30 and was seen promptly by all medical and nursing staff and was on my way to theatre by 8.30 . Everyone introduced themselves and made sure I understood what was going to happen . 

The theatre staff were exceptional and ensured I understood what was happening at each stage. I went into theatre at 10.10 and was in recovery by 12 and back on the ward by 13.00 with a cup of tea in hand . Once the epidural had worn off I was out of bed with physio in the afternoon . 

Special mention to HCSW Sally on night duty she was wonderful and not only assisted with personal care tasks she brought tea and biscuits ! 

I aimed to go home the next day however my blood pressure thought otherwise so I stayed another night . 

Once home my outpatient appointment arrived by text the same day and the physio department at Pilgrim hospital rang to arrange my appointment. Community nurse appointment was easy to arrange too . The nurse from Grantham rang a few days later to check I had everything I needed and if I was mobilising and pain free .
