"I could not have been better looked after"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department University Hospital Wishaw / Radiology

(as the patient),

As I walked home from town, a dog which was on the lead, lurched at me biting my leg and I fell to the ground.

A friend drove me to Wishaw General where after Triage, I had my wound dressed, Tetanus injection and bag of medicine and dressings to take home, plus instructions.

I then went to the X-ray dept to have my shoulder X-rayed and then returned. Where the doctor examined my films, said that I had a small chip on my humerus and gave me a sling to wear.

From the receptionist nurses, radiographers and doctor I received smiles, care compassion and a “listening ear “ and total professionalism. Each one was caring, informative and totally committed to their jobs. I could not have been better looked after.

Dear marsmq63

Thank you for your lovely comments about your recent visit to hospital. I'm sorry to hear that you had received a dog bit and subsequent fall.

I'm please to hear that the radiographers had showed care and compassion when you attended for your x-ray. I will make sure your feedback is shared with them and am sure it will make their day to hear this.

Our staff work very hard and I'm delighted to hear that they showed such empathy and professionalism with you.

I hope your health is improving and your injuries are healing well.

With warm wishes,

Sara
