My elderly dad recently attended the Plastic Surgery Admissions Unit at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for a procedure to remove a cancerous growth. From our arrival to our departure, we were very well looked after. The Consultant, Miss Davies, was so patient and kind with my dad, recognising he was hard of hearing and worried about everything that was going on. She spent time with him before and after the surgery, answering all our questions and helping us understand what was still to come. All the nursing staff were so kind, offering dad cups of tea and blankets when we told them he was cold.
The NHS is often criticised but I want everyone involved in my dad's care to know that they made a huge difference to how he coped during his stay in hospital. Thank you from all his family.
"Excellent care from plastic surgery staff"
