Took my son to an and e, he had been sick about 20 times and was worried about dehydration. He wasn't triaged for 30 minutes, the waiting room was so over crowded, people were sitting on the floor, it was so hot. When he did get triaged they gave me a syringe to give him 12ml of water e very ten minutes for an hour. I asked if there was a room we could go in, as he felt so unwell and didn't want to be sick in a crowded, boiling hot waiting room, he was so thirsty giving him 12ml of liquid was just cruel. He was crying and begging me to take him home. This was at 9.15pm, the discharge said 4am so we would have been there for 7 hours, I'm glad I took him home. The nurses said the whole north west is over crowded. I tried to find the nurse to advise we were leaving, there was no one to be found. I assumed his bloody pressure/oxygen was ok, otherwise they would have seen him right away. Will never return to Oldham hospital again. I'm not blaming the staff, but something needs to change.
