"We felt welcomed and valued"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Radiology

(as a relative),

Was greeted by very courteous and helpful staff after entering the main reception area.

1 - What was good?

Excellent reception by staff at the desk. Was given clear directions as to the location of the Nuclear Lab. 

2 - What could have been better?

More help at the front door and better parking facilities as my Mother needs to be dropped off at the main door each time she has an appointment at the RVH. More mobile chairs should be made available, this would help tremendously as there are many visitors such as my Mum who have limited mobility.

3 - How did you feel?

Firstly we felt welcomed and valued. It always takes some time however, for the sense of awe of the RVH to ebb. It is such a tremendously vast facility and has so many caring professionals who are always ready to help and assist when needed.

Many thanks indeed to all the staff who work diligently every day.

My name is Kevin Patterson I am the Facilitator for Patient and Client Experience for the Belfast Trust, I also manage the Front of House Reception desk in the main foyer. Can I first thank you for posting your story on Care Opinion and taking the time to leave your feedback it is greatly appreciated.

I am so pleased to hear that the main reception staff gave you clear directions and helped you get to your appointment smoothly. The staff will be so pleased to read that your experience was positive and that they helped you, I will share your story with them now.

We are aware that the main reception is extremely busy and we are looking at more ways of offering support not only to service users and visitors but to the staff also.

Hello Kevin, many thanks indeed for taking the time to respond to my feedback. I do hope that this is of help to yourself as a leader and to the Team responsible for the main reception area at the Royal Victoria Hospital, they really do a great job.
