I've been a long term patient of this practice. I was registered here shortly after being born until I was 19. I was shortly a patient at my university gp practice but was welcomed back with open arms when I returned.
The receptionists are all friendly, the ACPs are knowledgeable, and the GPs always give you the time of day. You'd never feel rushed to explain your ailment, and the doctors will always emphasise with the affect its having on your work life, social life etc.
After looking at your history and hearing of your current problems, the doctors always discuss multiple options, and allow for you as the patient to have your input on your treatment plan. For example, when I had to have a 24 hour tape done, i was given the option of UCH or Whittington. This is refreshing because if you have had a particular good or bad experience at a specific hospital, it empowers you to take charge of your treatment and choose where you think you'll have the best experience.
At my university health surgery, I always felt like i was being pushed towards a pharmaceutical intervention, but riverplace allows me to choose which is empowering as a patient who might feel a bit helpless due to their medical conditions.
Riverplace has never lost a single medical record of mine. I can see via the NHS app gp record medications that were prescribed to me back in 2000! I was less than a year old and have this on my record.
I want to give a special mention to my GP - who I am not allowed to name - who has always lended an empathetic ear and has taken care of me since I was born. She even remembered me a decade after not seeing her. The ability for a doctor to forge a rapport with a patient over the length of decades is something that is lacking in modern day medicine, and I feel privileged to have that with my GP - who I'm not allowed to name.
If you want a GP practice that advocates for your health, empathises with you, gives you quick appointments, empowers you with input and choice over your treatment, and forges a lasting relationship, then I recommend you register with Riverplace.
