"I felt less alone and like I could breathe again."

About: NHS 24 / Breathing Space (Phoneline)

(as a service user),

I spoke to a women from breathing space around 10pm the other night, I have been going through some challenges lately and have crippling health anxiety. Before I called I was in a state, feeling alone and overwhelmed and couldn't stop crying. 

When I phoned I wasn't sure what to say and the listener was very patient let me have a minute to compose myself. We then talked through what was going on and talked about breathing techniques and self care. It was only a 20 minute phone call but the empathy, compassion and understanding I was given made such a massive difference by the end of the call I felt like someone finally understood what I was going through, I felt less alone and like i could breathe again. 

Thank you so much to the listener, may you never forget the difference you make.
